Important community meeting Oct 21 – POSTPONED

September 24, 2020

The board of directors is currently discussing the permanent closure of the centre. Please read the letter below and attend this very important meeting. On top of the activities that bring the community together, the centre is currently the emergency shelter location in case of a disaster and is used to vote at provincial and federal elections.

2603 Rte 115, Irishtown NB

To All Those Concerned:

Please be advised that discussions are taking place regarding the permanent closure of the Irishtown Community Centre. The community centre was built in the late 1970’s by the Irishtown Lions Club to promote community gathering.

Over the last few years, it has become very difficult to find volunteers to help run our community programs as well as volunteers to support the Board of Directors.

We are planning to hold a public meeting on Wednesday, Oct 21st at 7:00 pmat the Irishtown Community Centre to discuss final processes.

You are asked to attend this meeting. Please respect others and wear a mask.

Over the past few years, with the help of our existing volunteers, we have been very fortunate to be able to upgrade our facility. Our financial status is in very good standing; however,

with the Covid 19 pandemic, we have found ourselves – like many other organizations having to close our doors and therefore; having no means of support.

It is with sincere regret that we find ourselves in this situation.

Your opinion matters to us – we look forward to seeing you.

Best regards,

Irishtown Community Centre

Board of Directors
